Do I have to have insulation in my chimney around the liner?

Question by nakitahagopian: Do I have to have insulation in my chimney all around the liner?
My chimney is previous and I just received a new high successful furnace which is triggering effloressence to occur via the chimney walls - I need a chimney liner. I want to know why they pour insulation mix top rated to bottom in the chimney following putting in the liner.
